Caitlin Passey is a brave young lady fighting against CLN3 Batten disease. This rare, debilitating neurodegenerative disorder poses immense challenges for Caitlin and her family every single day. In June, more than 30 members of Caitlin’s community are coming together to help raise funds to create a Safe Haven for Caitlin.
From 21st June to 23rd June, they will be embarking on a gruelling challenge running 4 miles every 4 hours for a total of 48 hours. The 4x4x48 challenge is a demanding running endurance event popularised by the iconic American ultra marathon runner and endurance athlete David Goggins.
You can meet some of Caitlin’s supporters and donate to the cause below.
Richard Ruddy and his friends Chris, Damo, and Rich will be taking on the challenge together. They have raised £300 so far.
Speaking on why he is taking part, he said: “Taking on this endurance challenge is a way for us to push our limits and show what we are all capable of.
“Plus, it’s an opportunity to raise as much money as possible for a great cause we all believe in while testing our own resilience and determination. It’s all about embracing challenges and making a positive impact”
